Crews Respond to Fire at Carrie Underwood’s Tennessee Home

Fans of Carrie Underwood flooded the country music star’s social media after news broke of a fire at her home near Nashville, Tennessee. Now, the “Cowboy Casanova” singer is reassuring fans that she and her family are completely safe following the Sunday, June 16 incident.

In a statement shared on Monday, June 17, Carrie Underwood’s team confirmed that Williamson County fire crews “quickly contained” the blaze. “There was no fire damage to the primary residence, and the family and their pets were unharmed,” the statement read. Underwood’s team verified many previously reported details. An off-road UTV caught fire and spread to the singer’s garage just after 9:40 p.m. Sunday. Williamson County dispatched all eight of its fire stations to the property in the affluent Pinewood community west of Leiper’s Fork. Fortunately, Underwood and husband Mike Fisher had the foresight to install a 10,000-gallon water tank at the home. Firefighters used that tank to extinguish the flames. Dinah Wade, a spokesperson with Williamson County Fire and Rescue, confirmed to The Tennessean that Underwood, Fisher, and their two sons were all home at the time. Luckily, they all escaped unscathed, along with three pets. “One of the pets would not leave the homeowner’s side,” Wade said. Afterwards, crews remained on the scene for several hours to battle hot spots.

George Strait breaks US Concert Attendance Record

George Strait breaks US Concert Attendance Record

George Strait, the “King of Country Music,” is now the “King of Concerts.”

Country singer George Strait just smashed another record in his chart-topping musical career. On Saturday, June 15th, the Texas native played the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history before a crowd of 110,905 fans, according to Billboard. The performance at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in College Station beat out the previous record held by the band Grateful Dead, which performed infront of 107,019 attendees during a 1977 show at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. Though Strait nabbed the record for the largest ticketed musical performance, there have been bigger crowds at some music festivals and free concerts held in the U.S., such as the 1986 performance by the New York Philharmonic in Central Park that drew an estimated 800,000 people.

Strait has the most No. 1 singles of any artist in any music genre, and he’s the only artist to chart a top 10 hit every year for 30 years. In addition, Strait has achieved the most No. 1 albums in the history of country music, which includes 20 of his 60 No. 1 hits. Strait has 13 multiplatinum and 38 gold albums. His ‘92 “Pure Country” catalog went six times platinum, and his highest certified album is the ’95 classic “Strait Out of the Box.”
